Mediation, Conflict Resolution, Problem Solving
The Model
Pre-meeting – with Line Manager and HR (if organisation has HR) to hear their perspective and explain the process (1 hour).
Phase 1: Individual Knowledge elicitation
Each individual is given 60 - 90 minutes to tell their 'story' including the context, history, etc. The mediators listen carefully and make sure the individual knows they have been heard and their feelings have been validated. No judgement or comment is made at this stage (90 minutes x number of participants).
Phase 2: Coaching
Each participant in the process gets introduced to the 'Temperature reading' (a tool for repairing and maintaining healthy relationships). Followed by feedback from the mediators on how they can contribute to moving the situation forward (90 minutes x number of participants).
Phase 3: The joint meeting
The mediators run a Temperature reading meeting for 2 – 3 hours.
Phase 4:
Any follow up meeting to gauge process tweak action points etc. Then report to management on how the process has gone (2 - 4 hours).
